I minored in psychology, and so it always intrigues me when people try to drag out the "is the glass half-empty or half-full" assessment. We all know your answer is supposed to determine whether you're generally a pessimist or an optimist. But come on.

This is going to sound bizarre for a moment, but I really do have a point, so bear with me. I was on-site at a client's today, and used their restroom. I must say, it was pretty nice. Very clean. And part of that cleanliness was the air freshener. I know half the population knows that smell because it stems from the urinal cakes. But this wasn't the usual cloying, thickly sweet scent, but something different.

I've been kind of dreading coming back to the blog. I don't know what to say anymore, and the longer I'm away, the harder it is to come back. As much as I love doing this, I'd barely gotten started, and suddenly, it's like the thrill is gone.

Ever since the weather cooled off, we've been able to turn off the portable AC unit in our bedroom. And so, for the first time in several months, it's possible to have absolute peace and quiet at night.

Sometimes, as a parent, I just don't know what to do. Today, the day when important clients drove hundreds of miles into the office for the big meeting, I got a call from the wife. Our son, after getting into a scuffle with another kid over, apparently, a pencil, told the teacher, "Go #!@% yourself."
