Proud to be an American

I kind of wish I'd seen this a week ago, it would have been a terrific addition to the Memorial Day weekend. Still, this amazing video shows what can be accomplished with enough effort, heart and desire.

I came back to post... this?

Okay, so I've gone a good month and a half since I bothered to write anything, and when I finally do, it's as some kind of corporate shill. Okay, not entirely, but there's still something of a faintly bad taste in my mouth because they want me to do this.

Misery, thy name is Murphy

I'm not exactly sure why I'm writing this, since I'm not particularly keen to remember what was quite possibly one of the worst days, taken as a sum of its parts, I've had in quite some time. I mean, I've had some truly horrific days, to be sure. But yesterday was one where it just seemed to be one thing after another. You know what I mean; one of those days.

It's my birthday, too, yeah!

I don't usually like to toot my own horn when it comes to things like my birthday, but I figured what the hell. So for no other reason than I can, here are people with whom I share this day.

Let's do the time warp again!

Okay, it’s not exactly a time warp, but clearly things have changed. I’ve been wanting to revamp the site for some time, so I finally got off my duff and did it. Additionally, I wanted to add some new things I hadn’t done before, and I wanted everything to be a bit more coherent and consistent. I started the site intending it to be for all Itzoe family members, but over time it became my own personal portfolio for my creative endeavors, so I decided to really push that aspect.

I hate rats, yes I do

As a homeowner, is there anything worse than having mice? Well, yes: rats. Our house is over a hundred years old. With that comes the resignation of knowing some things are inevitable. Some dampness in the basement when it rains. Cracked paint from settling walls. And vermin.

Releasing the inner train nerd

I took this last Thursday, and it's taken me this long to do something with it. So sue me. Also, not terribly exciting. Boo hoo. Ya know what? It's not often I get the chance to actually film a train in motion, so when I get it, I take it.

Daddy's little Hoosier

I know I haven't written much about Lucy, the younger of our two Jack Russell dogs. If Zoe (the other one) has a fault, it's that she's just not down with wearing clothes. As soon as a dress or sweater goes on, she thinks it's time for a ride and starts into the non-stop whining like a six-year-old on Christmas Eve. Lucy on the other hand, is fine with clothes, to where we think she looks "naked" without them.

There's a reason why we call it the "ghetto McDonald's"

Just when you think you've seen it all, you see some more. I've written before about how I not only love the McRib sandwich, but how it tends to be too hastily made to really be considered a "sandwich." I doubt I'll have reason to ever complain about that again.

I saw a UFO

Let me be very clear about this: I am not saying this was some kind of alien spacecraft. I couldn't tell what it was, therefore, I couldn't identify it. It was flying. Obviously it was some kind of object. Q.E.D.
