Let me be very clear about this: I am not saying this was some kind of alien spacecraft. I couldn't tell what it was, therefore, I couldn't identify it. It was flying. Obviously it was some kind of object. Q.E.D.
Anyhoo, I was leaving work one afternoon a couple weeks back, looked up, and saw it. It's not uncommon to see airplanes going by, and with the hospital a couple blocks away, helicopters are a usual occurance as well. This thing, though, was either so high up or so far away, it appeared nothing more than a shiny blip in the sky.
What was unusual, though, was the regularity of the shimmer it seemed to display. It appeared to go from bright to, well, not so much dark as shadowed. About what you'd expect a streamliner to look like driving down a tree-lined street on a sunny afternoon, only the trees are uniformly spaced and of identical size. My initial thought was maybe it was passing underneath clouds, but it was a cloudless day.
This is a crude representation I whipped up for illustrative purposes:
So I don't know what I saw, though I still assume it was a helicopter as it seemed too boxy for an airplane. It moved across the sky and I was able to follow it for several minutes, but couldn't quite get a good bead on it. I eventually lost it in the blue of the sky.
So there it is. Strange but true.
P.S. I am not a crackpot.
